The Wyckoff Fire Department would like to congratulate Andrew Michael Bell on his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout. Congratulations also to his parents, Colin, member of Company No. 1 and his wife, Sue Bell.
Andrew began his scouting career as a Tiger in Wyckoff Pack 198 in 2000. He progressed through the ranks and earned the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouting’s highest honor. He joined Troop 89 in 2005, and worked diligently to complete all the requirements to attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
He chose to rebuild the Wyckoff Fire Department Memorial in front of Company No. 1, which had been damaged in a storm, for his Eagle project. He contacted Fire Chief Dave Murphy about his plan and Dave suggested that he contact Scott Fisher, Captain of Company No. 1, and Road Department Superintendent, as well as Ex-chief Nick Ciampo to assist him with his project. He demolished the existing monument with the help of Scott, Nick, other scouts in his troop, and members of the Wyckoff Road Department.
He raised the funds to complete the new and larger monument which stands in front of Fire Company No. 1. He can be very proud of his achievement each time he passes the site. The Wyckoff Fire Department wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Andrew for such an outstanding job in replacing our existing monument.
