Last Monday Evening the Wyckoff Fire Department hosted a mutual aid Ice Rescue Drill involving several neighboring communities. The purpose of the drill was for the fire departments from several towns to work together to remove several victims trapped beneath the ice using special ice/water rescue equipment.
This exercise included the Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Oakland and Waldwick Fire Departments, the Wyckoff Ambulance Corp. and Ridgewood Emergency Services. All of the agencies got to work side by side and advance their training and skill levels.
